Our story begins with Liam arriving on a large plot of land that was willed to him from a distant Aunt Maire MacKenzie who had moved to the United States long ago. Liam wasn’t even aware of this aunt, who apparently had been quite the black sheep of the family. With the news of this substantial gift, Liam couldn’t wait to begin his adventure in the United States. He gathered a small amount of belongings and his life savings and made his way to Sunset Valley.
Liam’s small amount of savings didn’t add up to much and he found himself in the shadow of two beautiful mansions. His full life savings, an entire $1,300 american dollars went to putting up a small lean to with outdoor plumbing and a firm bed to rest his head at night.
While reading the only book he brought with him, Liam stretched his long frame across his new bed and dreamed of being able to upgrade his home furnishings. He knew finding a career was in his future.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Liam quickly found his way through the strange new town and stopped at the Police Department. He knew that this peaceful sleepy town likely had an underside and what better way to help protect the good citizens of Sunset Valley than to “Protect and Serve”.
After his recruitment process ended, Liam self satisfied with the new career of Law Enforcement under his belt, Liam decided to walk around the town and see if he could make some friends. He also realized that knowing people in the town would be very helpful in his new position of Snitch with the Police Force.
Outside the theater he ran into Ms. Crumplebottom. He only asked her for directions and she was quite rude to him. He quickly got the impression she was grumpy!
Because Liam spent nearly all of his money on furnishing his new home, he didn’t have extra money for food until he was able to receive his first paycheck. He was wandering through the park feeling his stomach grumble when he came upon a picnic spread on the ground. Not seeing anyone nearby he quickly sat down and took a few bites from the picnic basket.
As it turned out, the basket belonged to one Jamie Jolina. Liam liked her nearly instantly though he’d never believed in love at first site. She seemed quite flirty and very pretty to Liam’s brilliant green eyes. Jamie was more than delighted to share her picnic with Liam.
He was curious if she was single. Liam was certain someone this attractive would had to have a boyfriend. She surprised him saying that no, she was single. She found that her work schedule left little time for dating.
Liam knew that honesty above else was important when getting to know people so he was quick to discuss his family and his goals in life with Jamie. She seemed to like the idea of a big family.
Liam asked Jamie on several other dates. One day she showed up unexpectedly at the Police Station on her way to the hospital just to say hi. Liam couldn’t help mentioning the little pair of baby sized running sneakers he had purchased. Jamie just patted him gently on the cheek and smiling before running off to work.
Liam felt more strongly about Jamie than he’d ever felt about anyone. Even though only a short time had passed, he knew with absolute certainty that she needed to remain in his life forever. He called her on a night he knew she had off from the hospital and asked her to meet him in the Park at the location they first met. She arrived, and as nervous as he was, he stumbled around a bit asking about the weather and other such trivial matters. He finally asked her if she would accompany him to his home. She agreed and they went back to Liam’s humble home.
The young couple talked until well past midnight. He explained about his life plan and what he hoped for the future. He learned even more about Jamie. He knew in his heart the time was right to ask her to spend her life with him.
The salary Liam earned at the Police Department wasn’t much, but he was able to afford a small diamond ring. He drew a deep breath and went down on one knee proposing to Jamie.
She drew back and looked at the ring on her finger and with tears of happiness shining in her eyes looked deeply into Liam’s eyes and whispered, “Yes!”
The happy couple completed their vows to love, honor and cherish each other and all family they would bring into the world. Liam and Jamie MacKenzie together in love.
A few days after the wedding ceremony, Jamie woke up feeling a bit ill. Certain it was the leftover Autumn Salad Liam had pulled out of the refrigerator for her the night before when she arrived home from work she didn’t give it a second thought. She was going to be late for work if she didn’t hurry…
